Anime Movies - Animated Movies For Adults

Though not many people are aware of Anime movies, these are steadily making inroads into the American movie scene. Anime movies are a new category of movies that have a style, subject matter and audience that is different from other categories. Animation movies in America tend to be focused around children whereas anime movies are animation movies that are targeted towards the adult population. These movies are very, very popular in Japan, where they originated and generally have a dark theme that is borrowed in most cases from the Japanese mythology. Most of the anime videos have a story that is based on the conflict between humans and nature and consequent loss of natural world. Another very popular theme features wars between giant robots.

For starters who want to experience anime videos, it is suggested that they start with the movies made by a man called Miyazaki. He is one of the most renowned movie makers and is credited with the creation of famous works like Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle and many more. One of his famous movies that is being talked about in America is Princess Mononoke. This movie is based on the subject of an ancient war between mankind and nature, wherein the humans have invaded the forest thereby angering the animals. The movie revolves around two human beings who are caught in between the two sides. Because of the human activities of mining and destroying the forest, the animals rise up in a mass revolt. One of the most memorable features of the movie is the creation of the forest god, which resembles an elk with a peculiar looking human face. It has a head with many horns and is something that one cannot afford to miss.

Though these movies generally feature conflict between humans and spirits, it is not always that these spirits are at loggerheads with humans. In the anime movie My Neighbor Totoro, almost all the spirits are friendly to humans, and even help them at times. Anime videos come in many genres and hence have a possibility of catering to a wide audience. There really is something for pretty much everyone!

Indiana Jones is Back To Save Us

It seems that America must feel as if she has lost her way in 2008 At least you would think so if you looked at what our artists are presenting to us. They have come back to help us, indeed to lead us and get us thinking about what we can do and be if we can recover our can do spirit.

First, Rocky came back from the dead, from poverty, from old age to remind us of what really matters in life. We didn't bother engaging each other about the implausibility of a fifty year old getting in the ring with a twenty something. We didn't want to. We wanted to believe in Rocky because he (even though is just a fictional character) represents more to us. He is inspiration; he is our comeback kid. He is hard work, determination and most of all humility. When we go to see him in the movie, we are not interested in reality; and I dare say we are not all that interested in being entertained. Additionally, it is probably true that we are not all that interested in feeling good. We want to be inspired. We need to be inspired.

It stands to reason that not too long after that Rambo came back to let us know that the world belongs to the American with the tough exterior but heart of gold: velvet and steel. We dismiss the rampant violence in the movie; because again, we want inspiration. We are able to leave the news about mortgage crises, jobs going overseas and rising racial tension. We are able to see a good guy win. Even if he is misunderstood, as all of us think we are at some level. Rambo is everyman. He is, unlike us at many points, clear on his mission. He walks with the certainty that we need to walk during difficult times.

Finally, have you noticed that Indiana Jones is coming back too? He rescued us from the wrath of God, from evil men who threatened the divine balance and even from poverty in India.

He reminds of the lines between good and evil. We never really leave his side and we are with him in spirit in his adventures and we want him to win. We expect him to win. He has come back just in time. Heck, if we can't have Jack Bauer for a whole calendar year; who to save us but Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones is back, and he is welcome.
