Fountain, The

Three stories - one each from the past, present, and future - about men in pursuit of eternity with their love. A conquistador in Mayan country searches for the tree of life to free his captive queen; a medical researcher, working with various trees, looks for a cure that will save his dying wife; a space traveler, traveling with an aged tree encapsulated within a bubble, moves toward a dying star that’s wrapped in a nebula; he seeks eternity with his love. The stories intersect and parallel; the quests fail and succeed.

Transformers

A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain’s glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain’s ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain’s glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all “specimens of this alien race,” and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of Hoover Dam, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens…

Striking Movie Websites

You've read and heard about everybody downloading movies on the internet, and you want to try it out as well. But in addition to all the hype about downloading movies off the net, you've heard some scary things. Spyware, illegal, bootleg, pirated and some of the not so good things associated with a movie download, and most definitely, these are things that you don't want to get involved in. But your friends have convinced you that you don't need to worry about such things and if you go to the right sites you won't have a problem. The only thing is they have not mentioned what are the 'right sites'. So you decide to try it on your own. Very innocently, you type in 'movie download' on your yahoo search site and youre hit with around ten thousand odd responses. So, what do you do next? Go to each site? Not a chance....but going through the first couple of sites is not a bad idea, that'll give you time to understand how things work and what to look for.

Online bootleg movie downloads are considered to be one of the greatest Internet evils and they are a major source of trouble for entertainers. Bootlegging is when audio or video content is leaked to the Web before its official commercial release. Bootlegging leads to enormous losses for producers and distributors because millions of people get the content for free and this undermines the producers profits. Needless to say, you should keep away from bootlegging because this way you stay on the legal side of movie downloads.

Top movie downloads sites include Cinemanow, Movielink, Unbox, Vongo and some other less popular sites. The good thing about these sites is that they are reliable. They might not offer free movies but in return you gain peace of mind because you know you are not doing something illegal.

If you're still not sure and you don't want to pay for a download subscription, make sure that you read reviews on the websites. Frequent users often leave their comments behind, good or bad. This is based on their feedback. These comments give us a fair idea of what to expect. Of course, some comments are questionable, since maybe some users, have had a really bad experience or a major problem with the website.

Some of the other factors you should keep in mind when looking for a movie downloads site is the speed of your Internet connection because if your connection is slow or there are frequent drops, you wont be able to download a lot even from the best site in the world. And in this case you cant blame the site! Also, check that you have enough space to store all the movies you will download because movie files are pretty large and they will need a lot of space.

These are some of the tips you should keep in mind when you decide to download movies from the Net.

Bianca Castafiore - The Opera Diva from the Tintin Comic Adventures

Bianca Castafiore first appears in the King Ottokar's Sceptre and was to make an appearance in several of the Adventures of Tintin albums written and illustrated by Herge. Bianca Castafiore character is a Milanese opera singer and her disposition is definitely one of an opera diva.

Herge the creator of Tintin was not a big fan of opera and the creation of Bianca Castafiore was considered by many to be an acknowledgment of that fact.

Castafiore is presented as being one of the leading lights in of opera of her generation but in all her appearances in the albums is only heard to sing a couple of lines form The Jewel Song (l' air des bijoux) from Faust and then only at deafening volumes "Ah my beauty past compare, these jewels bright I wear!...Was I ever Margarita? Is it I? Come reply...Mirror mirror tell me truly!" It was fair to say that Castafiore was not universally liked by all of the Tintin gang.

Captain Haddock in particular isn't a big Castafiore fan and at one point she even calls him a "scruffy little school boy". She shows a maternal instinct for Haddock which he truly hates and when he is later linked romantically to Bianca Castafiore by a newspaper reporter he is revealed by Herge as a very unhappy character indeed.

Captain Haddock's is further annoyed by the fact that the signora can never get his name right (see the end of the post for details) and when she ever shows signs of affection for Captain through gifts the results are always calamitous.

Bianca Castafiore (her name means "chaste flower") ends up captured along with her entourage (her maid Irma, her musician Igor Wagner and the detectives Thompson and Thompson) in the album Tintin and the Picaros by General Tapioca on the advice of Colonel Sponsz. The general and colonel's aim being to lure Captain Haddock, Tintin and Professor Calculus to San Theodoros where they are then accused of conspiring with Castafiore to assassinate and overthrow General Tapioca. Then however through an unseen chain of events General Tapioca is overthrown with the help of the accused.

This doesn't help Castafiore as she is unfortunately still imprisoned and is seen to complain of over cooked pasta. Bianca Castafiore is one of the best loved characters in the Tintin adventure comics and it will be very interesting to see which lucky actress will get to play her in the upcoming Tintin movie to be directed by Spielberg and Jackson.
